Blunk/Barnet FamilyRufus Blunk was born in Inverness and grew up in the woods and on the shores of Tomales Bay in a family of artists. Born in Zambia, Elizabeth Barnet, was raised in many parts of the US, in a large family, with a love of ideas, books, nature, and music. Rufus and Elizabeth met building homes in Nicaragua in the late 1980s. During the last fifteen years they have built a small homestead and are raising their three children, Jasper, Silas, and Savilia, outside of school. "Looking around we see an abundance of learning opportunities interwoven into our local social and cultural fabrics. Community-based home schooling has allowed us to design an education appropriate to the place we live and our local needs."
