Joe Mueller

Since 1982 Joe Mueller has been leading field studies courses in Western North America. Although he earned his Masters Degree in Marine Biology from Sonoma State University he has constantly strived to be a generalist with a holistic philosophy. An expert in ecological thinking, Joe has taught more than fifteen different courses, ranging form marine biology to environmental science, for the Department of Life and Earth Sciences at College of Marin since 1989. He has been instrumental in developing College of Marin's unique Natural History Program. By sharing his passion for Nature Joe hopes to compel others to care for the ecosystems that keep us alive. His central message is simple: Our crisis of perception is largely responsible for the unsustainable course we've taken. We are a part of Nature, not apart from Nature.
